Half or whole? (Sports update… skip if not interested…)
As most of you know I love running (and jazzzzzz music). I was distracted for a while when we got finally pregnant after trying for 1, 5 years soon almost seven years ago. Thought I’d better not strain myself too much and miscarry. I did do some cycling until it got too cold and did go for walks, but no running or nothing too strenuous.
Then the second pregnancy came. During the second pregnancy I was already bored walking that one road back and forth. At that time we lived in the middle of forest about 60 km from the centre of Helsinki… this was the house we build. Naively thinking we’d live there forever. Ah, youth… So not interested in walking I started swimming. I went swimming once a week until 31 weeks pregnant. I’ve always had a big tummy when pregnant and the kids have always been at least 4 kg. So I did get some looks in the swimming pool with my huuuuge tummy LOL
After the second one I had to get back to running that same old road. Had no choice, but don’t remember running too much actually. Then there came the project Australia and as all of you know one kid more. No time for sports just short quick walk every now and then. I have to admit that I was neglecting myself.
All this neglecting comes back at you… When I finally started really exercising when we got to Australia there was nothing left of the former runner, basketball player nor floorball player. Funny how fast your physical health just goes down. Wasn’t prepared for that.
I believe I’ve written something about the sports in Australia so won’t go back there again, but before we decided to head back to Finland I ran 1 hour and 15 minutes without any problems. My goal was 1,5 hours. Then came the immigration again…
Now after about two months I am finally back to the ‘good shape’ I was in Australia. I can easily run 45 minutes. Just like a coffee break for me LOL. Did my first (for years!!!) 10 km run last Sunday and it was easy. Could've ran couple more k's but decided not to strain my feet too much.
Now I’m wondering if a marathon is a completely impossible mission for me. My feet are not the best for running but my body seems to be able to run as long as my feet can last. I have acknowledged that I am not ‘young’ anymore in sense of sports and might have to make compromises or altogether change my goals (and start swimming eg.).
Have found some good training programs for half marathon and will try to follow them. ( why did this foot have to start being nasty right now!!! Shouldn’t have taken the cycling last night, but my regular dance class teacher was ill and was already there so decided to try it with dancing shoes meaning too thin soles in the shoes :/)
I’ve also spent a lot of time getting to know what are the good and what are the bad food supplies for me. Have skipped most of the bad ones and have to admit that it has made a huge change in my comprehensive well-being. I seem to have energy to what ever I want (well some of you might say you already had that... I did, but it was not a pleasure. Now I look forward to all the chores and seem to have a more clear minded approach to everything)! So I’ll hold on to this diet at least for the time being. Can’t imagine a reason to skip from it and feel tired and inefficient again. There is just no time for being inefficient in a family of five.
So the point of this post is to seek for assistance and tips for running more than average people do and for how to survive all this getting old physically stuff. Will my feet give up on me or can they be trained? What about my heart? Will it skip a beat if I strain too much... push it to the limit.... which is now 197 bpm.
I guess I just feel like I'm alone. I have this all new exiting hobby and I'm talking about k's and bpm's and kcal's all by myseld... Don't 'know' anybody running here in Finland (execpt Laura and Elina... Mhuaah....Kisses gals.... )So all of my friends secretly running not telling me let me know and we'll go for a run!
Ok, this post is far too long already and mostly probably very boring although I could continue on and on about the nutrition and sports that I’ve been studying lately =) Hope everyone is well ((((()))))

Moi,
Lukasin sun postauksen pikaiseen läpi ja kerta olen menossa nukkumaan en jaksa lukea sitä uudestaan läpi löytääkseni kaikki kysymykset ja pointit.
Mutta siis asiaan mitä itselle tuli mieleen. Toivottovasti en kauheasti puhu ohi aiheen?
Juoksin itse ensimmäisen puolimaratonin vuosi sitten, Espoon rantamaratonin.
Olin silloin 30v.
Maraton on btw yleensä yleinen harrastus vanhempien keskuudessa.
