I was lucky enough to get tickets toMadonna’s Sticky and Sweet tour concert. The concert was held at Jätkänsaari, old harbor area that’s just a big empty asphalt yard waiting for futuredevelopment now that the harbor has moved to outskirts of the City. Jätkänsaariis situated right in the heart of Helsinki City so the place was prettyconvenient for an outdoor spectacular and that it was!
This concert was the biggest outdoor event everarranged in Scandinavia!! Approximately 85 000 people headed to Jätkänsaarion that afternoon making traffic arrangements more or less challenging. To myopinion the organizers, Helsinki city transport and everyone involved in thehappening did their share just absolutely wonderfully. I have nothing tocomplain!

Right after I got off from work at 4pm Iheaded to Jätkänsaari by metro (subway). It was filled with people like me headingto the concert area. In the picture above as you see I was not waiting alone toget in the area!
Once they finally opened the gates we got inquite fluently without too much waiting for security inspection and it was timeto head to toilet and make a camp at your area which in this case was B so not the closest to stage, butnext area. After eating all your picnic stuff in about an hour the DJ startedplaying music and people started packing closer to the stage like herrings in ajar.

Here a picture of the stage from aroundwhere one set of toilets were. As you can later see the arrangements withlights and all are just HUGE.

Me at the very front of the B area. As youcan see we were quite close to the stage. Some of our friends were severalhundreds of meters behind us. SEEEE how close I was :O Still it was a littledifficult to see. This one time I was lucky I am so tall LOL

Couple more pictures of the lights hangingup on the ‘ceiling’ of the stage. No wonder someone got killed in an accidentwhen putting these together somewhere in South Europe on this tour. Don’tremember which place it was though now.

t’s getting darker!! (about 10pm or so…remember in Finland we have daylight until way over midnight in midsummer) Seehow HUGE the M is and how cute pink/diamond painting it has. It sparkled in thedark!
We are just a few minutes away from seeingthe Queen of Pop! At this point I started thinking of the time I was sitting inour attic watching a concert of Madonna (or music video) from TV and was likeWOW! I remembered my first Madonna C-tape and the first C-tape I ever boughtwith my own money earned ‘Like a Virgin’ was the name of the album…. This isit!! Soon I’ve seen all artists I’ve wanted to see live!

And there she was, sitting like the Queenof Pop should smiling luringly happy. In the picture above you can see my viewwith the camera; yes there she is in the middle on the chair!
Below you can see a closer look… It isher!!

I only had mymobile with me so the pictures I took were no good because it doesn’t haveproper flashlight to take pics in the dark nor can you take steady pictureswith it so won’t be putting them here.
The show was justawesome and well planned. Clearly she is professional in this and made a greatspectacular. I won’t say anything about her singing gifts, but she sid sing thesong from Evita with just her guitarplaying accompanying and it was prettygood. I have to be amazed about how she can jump up and down for 2,5 hours andsing (yes she did sing, they were not playback) on top of that without beeingtoo much short of breath nor taking long breaks to recover. I would’ve beendead after the first few songs already!
Made me thinkabout how we people treat ourselves and how we do not take proper care ofourselves. Evolution has created us to run after our food not sit in front ofthe computer eating it LOL (easier said than done I know)
Well gave spanks to myself and decidedto have Madonna-wanna-be-arse as my goal. Been trying ever since to get to mygoal, but the older you get the slower the process seems to be. Getting inshape I mean… getting out of shape is really fast at this age!!

In the concert there were a lot of songsfrom her new album, but also older ones a little revised to a more disco likeversions. Of course there was a tribute to Michael Jackson part in the concertand Spanish/kind of gypsy number.
After 2,5 hours she said goodbye Helsinkiand left. Half of the stage was unpacked before we even got out of the areawhich left you thinking of how much logistics this kind of tour requires andhow many people work to make it happen every other day in different town andhow many sets of all of this we saw there is? Two at least, I began tounderstand the price of the ticket 109 EUR (a little less than 200 AUD).Amazing and really surprising that nothing went wrong or if something did gowrong we didn’t at least notice it. I’m not counting the few imperfections inher voice nor the falsettos
)
Thank you Madonna, thank you everyoneinvolved in the happening. I enjoyed it tremendously and it was a privilege tobe a part of it.

Oh my Gosh! i really envy you. I haven't seen Madonna performed live yet...
